James I. Motes (“Jim”) joins Dolan Divorce Lawyers as a litigation attorney after receiving his juris doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Attorney. Motes received his B.A. from the University of Dallas, his M.A.T. from the University of Massachusetts, and his 6th Year Certificate in Educational Administration and Supervision from the NEAG School of Education at UConn.
During law school, Attorney Motes interned for the Connecticut Attorney General’s office in the Public Health and Education section, and for a private law firm in Westport, Connecticut focused on Education Law. He served three years on the Student Bar Association, including two years as the Parliamentarian. In addition, he received his Human Rights Certificate from UConn.
Before joining Dolan Divorce Lawyers, Attorney Motes was a public school educator, teaching high school Latin, English, and Theater Arts. He lives in Portland with his wife and children, where he serves as the Chair of the Ethics Commission.
