Ruth Nadeau Dwyer is a Partner at Dolan Divorce Lawyers. Ruth handles Family Law matters for the firm, including divorce, custody, and post judgment matters. Attorney Dwyer started as a Legal Research Clerk for the Connecticut Judicial Branch before joining Ackerly Brown LLP in Bantam. During her 17 years at Ackerly Brown, Attorney Dwyer handled all aspects of family law, including litigation, mediation, and Guardian Ad Litem appointments, as well as civil litigation and probate litigation. She was selected to the New England Super Lawyers Rising Star list from 2012 through 2019.
Attorney Dwyer is a Connecticut native and graduated magna cum laude from Fairfield University with a Bachelor of Arts in politics. She spent a semester abroad in England, interned at a child advocacy coalition in Bridgeport, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa during her time at Fairfield University. Attorney Dwyer earned her law degree from the College of William and Mary School of Law in Williamsburg, Virginia where she became certified as a mediator and was awarded the Gambrell Professionalism Award.
Attorney Dwyer has been very active in her local bar association, the Litchfield County Bar Association, since beginning her legal career. In addition to serving as Law Day Chair, Secretary, and Vice President, she was also the LCBA’s second youngest President. She continues to serve the organization as co-chair of the CLE and Scholarship Committees. Attorney Dwyer resides in her hometown of Torrington with her son and serves on several local non profit boards and committees in addition to being an elected Constable.
